Spring Break - There is Nothing Like A Spring Getaway

Students need to take a break after spending months of time with studies and staying active in school. College students in particular are busy with lots of research and theories that they encounter during their regular school days.

In finding time to relax, spring break is enjoyed by college students throughout the world. For many students, spring break is the perfect time to organize a sandy party beach, or plan a get-together with friends.

However, going out during spring break is not only for the sake of enjoyment. The safety is a major issue faced by spring breakers today. Many spring breakers are engaging in high-risk behaviors at any cost despite the issued warnings campaigned by concerned groups and media organizations.

College students who take part in spring break events often forgot their limitations such as the danger of drinking too much alcohol and driving under the influence, contracting sexually transmitted diseases, drugs, and other bad influential activities.

Countless reports revealed that the inappropriate behavior of these students affect their social being as well as their studies. For instance, it was revealed by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism reports that over 70,000 students between 18 and 24 years old were victims of sexual assault or date rape in a year and that 100,000 have been too intoxicated to remember if they consented to having sex.

The prevalence of this report disturbed the society, which prompted the cause-oriented groups to increase their awareness by increasing the awareness during spring break.

You need to be careful and control your behavior to avoid unnecessary incident during break. Many spring breakers troop to South Padre Island, Palm Springs, Panama Beach, Miami Beach, Cancun, Jamaica, Acapulco and the Bahamas. These places are classified as the most popular getaway during spring break.

For parents, they should get the names and numbers of the hotels including the numbers of their friends. You can give them allowance but not to pay everything for their trip. Motivate your children to exert other effort to share in their own expenses.

For students, on other hand, make sure that you know and trust the people around you. Always plan everything and make a pact to look out for each of the participants. When traveling to a new place, avoid traveling alone in the area. Always implement the buddy system to maintain that everybody is safe.

Spring breakers should always think of valuable ideas in order for to enjoy their vacation. Follow advises of their parents and their friends in order to have a safe and sound trip.
